Golf is a Great Team Building Activity

Whether you are playing miniature golf or you hit the big course, golf is an excellent idea to take your team for an off-site day trip. Golfing is fun, a favorite past time, and a great way to take the team for an outing that is safe.
Most people love to golf. Golfing is fun and competitive. Your employees don’t have to golf on a competitive level. You can take the team to a golf course for a day. There are rental carts available and you can rent the clubs and gear required for everyone. You don’t have to worry about the employees having their own golf gear. Most people don’t own their own golf gear because it is too expensive. You can rent the gear for everyone in the local pro shop. If people don’t know how to pick out clubs and things, the golf pro expert on site can help everyone with everything they need.
Golf is a favorite past time and a lot of fun. Most people won’t argue with a day trip to the golf course to get the employees minds off of the hectic office environment for a little swing time, even if they don’t have a clue what they are doing. Most people know the goal of golf, even those with US visas through USCIS or even waiting on a citizenship application to be approved. People around the world play golf or they have seen it played. Even if your staff doesn’t know how to play, it would be fun to take them out on the course with a trainer and for some fun.
Many outings have to be approved through upper management and they are difficult to do because they are considered unsafe. Everyone is an adult and they can drive themselves. This allows you to eliminate any liability of driving while in the scope of employment or being responsible for an accident. Golf is safe for everyone. It is not dangerous like driving racing go karts or downhill skiing. You can be sure everyone is going to have a good time and there will be no injuries while you are all away. If you are too concerned, take everyone to a miniature golf course.
A miniature golf course is ideal for people who don’t have a lot of time but want to get some quick fun in. It isn’t your typical business team building exercise because it goes too quickly. Golfing on an actual course allows you to spend the entire day in the sun enjoying everyone’s company, and get to know your staff a lot better.
When you take your employees for a team building golf day, be sure that you set the ground rules of competitiveness and judgment. Some golfers are extremely competitive and can be downright brutal. This is not the point of a team building golf day. The point is to have fun while everyone learns to play a fun sport. Remind everyone that golf is an individual sport and the point is to make individual goals to beat. If things get too competitive, then it can ruin the day.
